Our Timeline

I've been working on our Adoption Timeline gadget, soon to be permanently added to the sidebar. I was considering including my limited infertility experiences, but decided against it. My infertility journey was super fast as a result of getting such a speedy diagnosis. As I read blogs from other women TTC via various fertility treatments, I realize that my quick diagnosis was a blessing, sparing me from the heartache that many deal with for years.

So anyway, our adoption timeline starts with the end of my infertility journey:

  • April 17, 2009: Final appointment with Reproductive Endocrinologist
  • May 20, 2009: Signed contract with adoption facilitator
  • May 26, 2009: "Officially Waiting" - profile published online
  • June 18, 2009: Profile "Life Books" ordered
  • July 29, 2009: Home Study Application Mailed

I'm hoping in the next couple weeks I can add "Complete Home Study packet mailed" and "Home Study interview completed". REALLY looking forward to "Home Study approved!" (YAY!) But most of all, I'm looking forward to the update that will go something like this:

"Adoption Finalized, Our Baby is finally home!"

Wow...that will be amazing!

Yeah for progress!!! I love timelines because they allow you to reflect. And what a sweet day when you're able to add that awesome update! I'm sure it will be soon! :)

Love the blog...and the jewelry!! I wish I came over here sooner:) When I did our timeline and put it on my blog, it did make me sad because it was such a journey just to get to where we are now. But I like to think that there is a very good reason for it. Here's to a short adoption journey for you! good luck with the rest of the home study process!

Doesn't it feel good to be on a trajectory? You've done all the hard work and now it's time to let things happen.

Which can be harder than MAKING things happen.

So glad to "know" you in a bloggy sort of way, too, Dana. May your timeline have lots of happy entries from here on out.
